The Visible Leader Training Program For Individuals

AT AJ RAO, LLC...

… Dr. Aparajita Jeedigunta is on a mission to transform 1000 traditionally marginalized people into confident, respected leaders who are seen, heard, valued, appreciated, and promoted, through The Visible Leader Training Program, by 2021.

WHO IS A TRADITIONALLY MARGINALIZED PERSON?

A marginalized person is one who is not seen, heard, or appreciated in their wholeness, and is therefore stuck in the rut of invisibility. This person is someone who is systematically and regularly left out of meaningful, authentic participation in day-to-day conversations, decision making, group activities and group membership, even though they are technically and formally a member of the group.

IN ORGANIZATIONS, TRADITIONALLY MARGINALIZED EMPLOYEES USUALLY ARE:

  • People of Color, especially Women of Color
  • Religious Minorities
  • People with visible disabilities
  • People who haven’t disclosed invisible challenges to their abilities
  • People with Gender, Relational and Sexual Differences (LGBTQIA members)
  • Women

THE NUMBERS AREN’T LYING. THE MAJORITY OF US ARE BEING RENDERED INVISIBLE EVEN NOW:

  • Women of color have only 4.7% of executive or senior-level positions in S&P 500 companies even though they are 18.5% of the workforce.
  • McKinsey and LeanIn reports indicate that from 2012 – 2019, there has been little to no progress in the representation of marginalized people, and no change in gender based barriers to advancement, or in, the frequency of microaggressions.
  • Fifty-two percent of LGBTQ+ employees report that discrimination has negatively affected their work envionment.
  • There are currently only 2 women of color CEOs in Fortune 500 companies and fewer than 20 board directors were openly LGBT+ in 2018; more than 2/3 Fortune 500 companies don’t have women of color as board directors.
  • Women with disabilities and women of color face more barriers to advancement, get less support, and receive less sponsorship than any other groups.

The REAL COSTS of Marginalization and Invisibility:

External costs:

  • Income Loss
  • No or very slow career growth
  • Relational conflicts at work and outside of it
  • Lack of skills development
  • Little or no leadership opportunities
  • Low productivity
  • No sense of loyalty or belongingness to the organization

Internal costs:

  • High emotional tax
  • Negative impact on self-esteem
  • Negative appraisal of self-competence
  • Lack of motivation
  • Increased anxiety and depressive feelings
  • Increased stress levels
  • Burnout
  • Lack of confidence
  • Feelings of resentment towards others

SO WHAT IS THE VISIBLE LEADER TRAINING PROGRAM AND HOW WILL IT HELP YOU?

The Visible Leader Training Program was created by me, as a traditionally marginalized person (in many ways). I constantly felt like I was being used to check off the required diversity checkboxes, but, wasn’t actually included. That made me realize I was actually rendered invisible in my whole life. And, I had to figure out how to get myself unstuck, all on my own, so that I could actually be seen and heard.

This program was created specifically for you, a traditionally marginalized person, to help transform you into a confident, respected, Visible Leader: someone who is seen, heard, valued, appreciated, and perhaps most importantly, someone who thrives in ALL aspects of your life.

All of the information, resources, tools and tips you will get in this program are things I have used to propel myself to unimaginable success, balance, visibility, and, most critically, to have the impact I always wanted to have on the world around. It took me over a decade to figure it out on my own.

I created this 8-week transformation process precisely so you don’t have continue to spend over a decade of your life in a rut of invisibility and marginalization. This program is intentionally informational, reflective and transformational to maximize your success in just 8-weeks:

“In my family, women were discouraged from showing how smart we were to save a man’s ego, lest we never find love. I was specifically told not to show the boys that I was good at math, which festered in my mind and heart until graduate school. I had full on panic attacks when studying statistics, though I was completely fascinated by the fact that numbers were able to represent things about people. I kept at it, until I ended up switching my concentration from clinical to quantitative. I no longer hid my love and talent for statistics.

One of the mottos of my family was “don’t make waves”. I was taught to silence my voice, dampen my spirit, and to leave no mark of my presence. I got into politics for a while, political messaging for a grassroots group. I had panic attacks making declarative statements about my opinions about highly charged issues and flat out disagreeing (however politely I did) with others and MEN. By the time I switched my focus to my son, I thought I was over those messages of hiding.

It turns out that though I had challenged those messages in the past, they still lingered. I discovered this when I pursued being a leader and organizer of a collaborative group of creatives. Being the leader made me more visible than I’d ever been before. And I was struggling.

With the help of Dr. AJ, I was not only able to confront and challenge those beliefs, but she helped me to develop a daily practice to maintain the gains and to continue to challenge those beliefs. Through this practice, I am becoming more and more the visible leader I want and need to be. She is able to challenge and support your growth in a way that is deep and sustainable. I am forever grateful.

What does being a Visible Leader mean?

Being a Visible Leader means that you are being seen as a powerful influencer and decision maker in all of your spaces, BECAUSE of your Wholeness. As a Visible Leader, you see your Whole Self, can show your Whole Self, and can appreciate, value and deeply and genuinely connect with others because of their wholeness. Visible Leaders are the strongest role models of creating spaces around them that are authentically, intentionally inclusive to help everyone feel like they belong.

How are you qualified to create and run this program?

I am a trained social psychologist, with a doctorate in Social-Personality Psychology. Over the course of my journey in the academic world, I developed, and taught courses to over 1,000 adult students on Psychology, Social Psychology, Positive Psychology, Culture, Cultural Transition, Group Dynamics, Gender, Interpersonal Relationships, Statistics, Research and Design and more. Additionally, once I left the academic world, I studied leadership and organizational management of non-profits, virtual online communities, and social enterprises. I also invested in myself to learn the tools of effective coaching, and became a Certified Professional Executive Coach. You can read more about me here.

How much does this program cost?

The Visible Leader Training program is not a one-size-fits-all solution by any means. Because the transformational components of the program are highly custom tailored to each individual client’s needs, a fair assessment of the situation and the price can only be done once we have a clear understanding of the needs and the fit. This is done in the Free Clarity Call that you can schedule at the top or bottom of this page. Or you may click here.

Can I sponsor someone to go through the Visible Leader Training?

Yes, you may be someone’s financial sponsor for the Visible Leader Training program, however, that person would still have to go through a clarity call first so that I can assess their needs and determine their fit for the program, and the price.

If they are a good fit and choose to enroll, then you may sponsor them financially, we can have further discussions about the financial arrangements.

What is the process to enroll in this program?

The process to enroll in The Visible Leader Training Program is simply to schedule your free clarity call with me. During this call, I will ask you a series of questions to get a deep understanding of your needs, goals, and desired outcomes. These questions will help me not only assess your needs, but, will also help me assess if this program is truly a good fit for you, and, if I will be able to serve you in my highest capacity, in all the ways you need. If I find that I am unable to meet your needs, I will be more than happy to refer you to another specialist in my vast network of coaches who could serve you better.

Is there an application fee?

There is no fee to apply to the Visible Leader Training Program. The program does not run on an open enrollment model. Instead, we carefully vet and qualify only those whom we know we can definitely help. The Free Clarity call helps us make this assessment.

Can I get sponsored by my company to participate in this program?

If you are an individual seeking to go through this leadership development program on your own, we currently don’t have a formal vehicle for sponsorship up and running. However, once you enroll and make the payments to us, we encourage you to explore the possibilities for reimbursement from your employer. Many organizations have funds that are available to their employees to use toward their personal and professional development. We suggest seeking advice from your Human Resources department on whether The Visible Leader Training Program would qualify under your organization’s criteria.

We are also more than happy to have you connect us with the decision makers in your organization so that we can explain the benefits of the program to them, or, if you think that this program would benefit your entire team or group.

Do you offer this program to groups?

Yes, this program can be done on an individual level, or on a group level, with a slightly different structure (due to the nature of the transformational coaching sessions). Details about the group program will be coming soon.
